A Fuel Team of five ladies visited Ecuador in late February to serve the Dunamis Foundation participants and staff members. For three days, Melissa Carey, Heather Hawks, Rhonda Lintner, Karen Mustoe and Janet Nevins shared the love of Jesus with girls recently rescued from sex trafficking and abuse. With creative art projects and songs, we expressed the hope we have in Christ, His great love for us regardless of our backgrounds and the situations in which we find ourselves, and the reality that His hands reach out with healing and care for each of them. The young girls, ages 12-17, responded with such joy to the messages of truth!
We praise the Lord for the privilege of spending time with A.T. & Crystal Holder (Rise Up Ministries), both of whom are serving Fuel the Mission and the Dunamis Foundation in Quito. We visited the Girls’ Home as well, reveling in God’s provisions and watchcase over this ministry.
The Dunamis Home is progressing quickly, with an anticipated completion in early summer as God provides the remaining construction
balance. This refuge will enable up to twenty girls, with no “safe” family or other resources, to leave behind a life of sexual abuse and exploitation. In this loving and healing place, they will receive counseling, medical care, infant care, an education, life-skills and HOPE for their futures. To help us finish this home, please send your gifts to Fuel the Mission, with “Dunamis Home” in the memo.
