Mission trip recap
Ten of us traveled to Southeast Asia this summer, anxious to visit with our brothers and sisters in Christ and to share in their many areas of service. Terry and Jenny Rhoads (Midland, TX) joined those of us from AZ (Chris, Janet & Elijah Nevins, Craig, Melissa & Kelley Carey, Christine Fox and Claire Harrison) for nine days in country.
We are thrilled to report that Fuel Sports Asia, our friends' churches, the girls' home and the tutoring centers are thriving despite increasing opposition. Kids who grew up on sports teams in the slums are now serving as coaches and church small group leaders. Girls who have never played sports are attending camps and joining teams. Construction on the second floor dormitories at the sports camp is underway with matches, tournaments, cell groups and camps held year-round.
Nineteen beautiful girls, rescued from infanticide, have a family and are growing in the Lord. Church members are feeding kids a meal every day after school and helping them with their studies. And in the midst of all of these projects and communities, large and small, souls are won for Christ every week!
Please enjoy this brief glimpse into our nine days of giving and yet receiving even more. (Some leaders and activities are not pictured for the protection of those involved.)
Would you pray with us for our friends and those they serve? Many hardships abound, trials on every side, and yet they are faithful. We thank you.
